FRONT DOUBLE DISC BRAKE SYSTEM - CROSS / ENDURO
FRONT DOUBLE DISC BRAKE SYSTEM FOR SUPERMOTO System composed of fork legs in hard anodized aluminum with n. 2 discs of 240mm diameter. Construction features 1) Less weight: it is one of the lightest to date in Supermoto. Compared to a common single disc with a diameter of 310mm or 320mm, it saves from 400g to 750g depending on the diameter 2) Equal distribution of weight: the calliper feet have the same weight which is distributed equally on both fork legs. The single disc only loads the left leg Advantages • Better sliding of the leg in the fork • Less bending to the left when braking • Less wear of the left fork bushings, therefore less maintenance interventions 3) Possibility of turning the front wheel: it can be mounted both ways. For example, on a track with many right-hand bends, after a few laps you can turn the wheel without removing the tire Dynamic characteristics 1) Gyroscopic effect: the single disc with a diameter of 310/320mm weighs from 1,150g to 1,600g depending on the diameter, against 900g overall of the 2 discs with a diameter of 240mm. A smaller mass and diameter decrease the forces that tend to straighten the leaning motorcycle and steer the wheel in the direction of the bend. The sensation is that of a lighter, more agile and maneuverable bike when cornering 2) Braking right into the corner: the effects mentioned above favor corner entry, allowing you to delay braking and increase corner entry speed 3) Greater confidence: our double disc is less aggressive and more progressive than the single disc, easier to manage in the wet and on dirt roads. It is possible to block the front wheel in the dirt without the bike breaking down. Conclusion All these advantages lead to an improvement in lap times. In fact, anyone who has used this system has lowered their times, even improving the various personal lap records on Motard tracks.
